Japanese single screw steam passenger-cargo ship (ex-Ibukisan Maru 1922-1935, Danichi Maru 1935-1938) Dainiti Maru 1938-1943

Built by Mitsui Bussan Kaisha Ltd., Tama Dockyard, Japan in 1922. In 1939 owned by Itaya Syosen K.K., Kobe, Japan. Gross tonnage 5.813 tons, under deck 5.514 tons, net tonnage 4.057 tons, deadweight 8.903 tons and as dimensions 385.0 x 51.0 x 36.0 x 8 (light)-27 (loaded) feet. Speed 10 (cruising)-11,5 (maximum) knots. Reciprocating 488 nhp oil-coal fuelled machinery. Oil fuel bunker capacity 1.541 tons allowing a speed of 10 knot a range of 18.000 nautical miles. Sunk while used as a transport by the American submarine USS Gurnard (SS-254) off the northern tip of Luzon, Philippines on 8 October 1943.
