Laid down by Thornycroft, London, England in 1896, launched on 24 March 1898, commissioned on 13 October 1898, modified in 1906, submarine acceptance tender in 1907, coastal defense vessel and submarine flotilla ship in 1914, submarine training vessel and acceptance tender in 1915, barrack ship in 1919, stricken on 28 July 1922 and broken up the same year at Wilhelmshaven, Germany. Nickname Schlingerpott-Roll Pot. Sister ship of the British 30 knots destroyers HMS Angler, Ariel, Desperate, Fame, Foam, Cygnet, Cynthia, Coquette, Mallard and Stag, Fitted out with 2 vertical 4-cylinder triple expansion steam engines and orginally 3 Thornycroft boilers allowing with 5.783 ihp/389 rpm a speed of 27,2 knots. Range varied between 2.120, 810 and 460 nautical miles with a speed of respectively 14, 19 and 22 knots and a coal bunker capacity of 77-80 ton. Crew numbered 47-52 me. Armament consisted of 5-5cm cal 40 torpedo guns and 3-45cm torpedo tubes. Displacement 310 (standard)-371 (maximum) and as dimensions 64.30 (waterline)-66.10 (over all) x 5.95 x 2.35 metres.
