An item reported that for the summer season patrolling in the Alaskan waters 3 US Navy and 4 US Coastguard vessels were available. If necessary the Department of Commerce could add 4 survey vessels and the Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet could receive orders to sent a division numbering 6 destroyers.
