An item reported that at the moment the US navy had none aircraft carriers commissioned. The USS Langley (1) would be ready by January 1921 and which carried 30 large aircraft. This 19.000 tons measuring carrier was a converted collier but with just 12 knots speed a slow ship.

As collier were her sister ships Cyclops, Proteus and Nereus. Displacement as Jupiter 19.360 tons and dimensions 165,2 x 19,9 x 8,4 metres or 542 x 65.5 x 27.8 feet.
