British corvette HMS Gladiolus sunk according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Tilburgsche Courant dated 7 November 1941

An item dated Berlin, Germany dated 7th November referred tot a statement of the British Admiralty the night before that the British corvette Gladiolus was sunk. The Dutch newspaper De Zuid-Willemsvaart dated 8th reported the death of several crew members.

1. K34. Flower-class corvette, building ordered on 25 July 1939, laid down by Smiths Dock Company, South Bank-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, England on 19 October 1939, launched on 24 January 1940, commissioned on 6 April 1940 and sunk off Iceland on 16 October 1941.
