Canadian corvette HMCS Windflower sunk according to the Dutch newspaper De Sumatra Post dated 11 December 1941

An item referred to a statement of the minister of navy that during enemy attacks on a convoy she escorted the Canadian corvette [HMCS] Windflower was sunk, probably taking with her 24 men of her crew.

1. K155. Flower-class corvette, building ordered on 22 January 1940, laid down by George T. Davis&Sons Ltd., Lauzon, Canada on 25 February 1940, launched on 4 July 1940, commissioned on 15 May 1941, loaned to Canada and sunk on 7 December 1941 after a collision with the Dutch merchant ship Zypenberg on the Grand Banks.
