British patrol vessel HMS Blazer (P279) 1988-

Archer-class P2000-type patrol and training vessel. United Kingdom-flagged, MMSI 235009870 and call sign GAAU. Built by Vosper Thornycroft and commissioned in 1988. Based at HMS Nelson, Portsmouth, England. Affiliated to Southampton University Royal Naval Unit (SURNU) and Portsmouth University Royal Naval Unit. Displacement 54 tons and as dimensions 20,8 x 5,8 x 1,8 metres. Rolls Royce diesels supplying via 2 shafts 1.590 bhp allowing a speed of 14 knots although the hull is designed for a maximum speed of 45 knots for which the horsepower is lacking with the original machinery placed. Range 550 nautical miles. Crew 18 (training)-12 (operational) men. Armament if needed 1-2cm Oerlikon cannon and 3 general purpose machine guns.
