British patrol vessel HMS Puncher (P291) 1988-

Archer-class P2000-type patrol and training vessel. United Kingdom-flagged, MMSI 232002940 and call sign GAAW. Completed by Vosper Thornycroft in 1988. Based at HMNB Portsmouth and used for training students of the Royal Naval Unit (URNU) of the University of London. Displacement 54 tons and as dimensions 20,8 x 5,8 x 1,8 metres. Rolls Royce diesels supplying via 2 shafts 1.590 bhp allowing a speed of 14 knots although the hull is designed for a maximum speed of 45 knots for which the horsepower is lacking with the original machinery placed. Range 550 nautical miles. Crew 18 (training)-12 (operational) men. Armament if needed 1-2cm Oerlikon cannon and 3 general purpose machine guns.
