Completion status of the American submarine USS Skate on 30 June 1911

Name superintending constructor G.C. Westervelt, contract signed on 5 March 1909, expiration of contract period on 5 August 1911, lines faired on 30 June 1909, first hull material ordered on 15 April 1909 , keel laid down on 21 August 1909, first frame erected on 20 October 1909, first large castings received on 20 April 1910, first large castings erected on 17 May 1910, first compartment tested on 5 May 1910 and estimated degree of completion on 30 June 1911 85%.(1)

Part of F-class, succeeded by E-class, succeeded by G-class, renamed F-4 on 17 November 1911, launched by Moran Brothers Company, Seattle, Washington on 6 January 1912, commissioned on 3 May 1913, foundered on 27 March 1915, salvaged on 29 August 1915, stricken on 31 August 1915 and in 1940 buried in a trench dug of the Submarine Base Mooring S14, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
