Erroneous report failed to mentioned the Brazilian battleships according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary No. 257 dated 24 August 1942

An item referred to a J.I.C. comment reporting that due to a typographical error two old battleships were omitted from the Brazilian naval strength as reported on 23 August.(1)

Note

1. The 19,281 tons Minas Geraes-class battleships consisting of the Minas Geraes and Sao Paulo, built between 1907-1910, main armament 6x2-30,5cm/12" cal 45 guns.
