Siamese gunboats Bali and Sugrib visited Sabang, Dutch East Indies in 1912

The Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemacht 1911-1912 reported that the Siamese gunboats Bali and Sugrib (1) visited Sabang, Dutch East Indies(2) between 16-18 September 1912.

Notes

1. Both of the Muratha-class gunboats, displacement 580 tons, steel built at Hong Kong around 1900 and in service until the 1930s. Horsepower 500 ihp, speed 11.5 knots. Armed with 1x1-4.7” gun on forecastle, 5-6pd guns and 4-1pd quick firing guns.

2. Sabang was then an important coal bunker station also used by foreign warships.
