The Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemacht 1913-1914 reported that the British 2nd class cruiser HMS Dartmouth visited Tandjong-Priok, Dutch East Indies between 8-11 December 1913. The Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië referred to the Singapore Free Press reporting her visit on short notice, She was described as an unprotected cruiser of 5,300 tons, speed of 25-27 miles and armed with 4-15cm guns and 4-4cm guns. The edition dated 8 December reported the arrival at Tandjong Priok that morning welcomed with the common gun salutes. The edition a day later named her officer Darcy and that she was underway from Colombo, Ceylon and Singapore to Christmas Island. De nieuwe vorstenlanden dated 10 December called her commanding officer Pidge d’Arcy.(2)
