Russian armed ship Elpidifor attacked by French destroyers according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 3 dated 22 January 1921

An item reported that the Soviet Government stated that between Novorossisk and Anapa the Russian armed ship Elpidifor was attacked by two French destroyers. The statement could not be confirmed.(1)

Note

1. The Dutch newspaper De Tijd dated 17 January reported that some crew members of the Elpidifor were killed or wounded and to prevent worse was she deliberately grounded in the Black Sea.
