Japanese nuclear powered submarine tanker project anno 1958

An item reported that Japan presented a project for a 30,000 tons submarine tanker to be fitted out with a 180 thermal MW pressurized water reactor (PWR) fuelled with UO2-zircalloy with 1.7% of enrichment allowing a submerged cruising speed of 22 knots. Core 9,200 MW day/tons. Refuelling every two years after 10,000 operating hours at full load.
