An item reported that again enemy submarines attacked convoys:
-on 10 August during daylight by apparently submerged submarines around 500 miles west of the Hebrides on the eastbound Trans-Atlantic convoy earlier attacked on 5 and 8 August sink 4 freighters. This convoy lost in at least 5 attacks totally 10 freighters. Two of the submarines involved in attacks prior to 10 August however were sunk. There were no details about a counter action on the 10th.
-on 12 August at daylight attacked submerged submarine(s) a convoy in the Straits of Florida sinking 2 freighters. There were no details about a counter action.
-in the night of 12-13 August 2 convoys in the Windward Passage and of each convoy was a freighter torpedoed of which at least one sunk. There were no details about a counter action.
-enemy mining operations off the east coast of Florida, USA caused until know none casualties.
-enemy submarines were now taking if possible the master of each ship that they attacked prisoner presumably to reduced the available number of qualified masters of the Allies.
