Auction at the Nieuwezyds Heeren Loogement, Amsterdam, Netherlands on Monday 1 October 1759 at 18:00 o’clock of the Dutch whaler Hagenburg, extra ordinary well sailing fluyt, commandeur Dirk Jansz Bakker, built in 1737. dimensions 115½ x 30.3 x 12.5½, verdeck 6.7 and stuurplecht 8.9 Amsterdam feet, doubled wut 2½”oak, armed with 2 iron guns (so-called gotelingen) and 2 swivels. Lying at the Tweede Waals Boom. Sold for 9.500 Dutch guilders to Willem Koning Abrahamsz, Abraham Koning Willemsz and Adam Hackman.

Greenland whaler, Backer or Bakker served as commandeur for bookkeeper Hendrik and Dirk Hagen, Amsterdam between 1755-159, in 1759 were the catch results zero, the previous year 3½ whale. 140 barrels whale blubber and 211 quardelen whale oil.
