Poland-flagged, homeport Gdynia Oksywie, MMSI 261283000 and call sign SNWS. Part of the Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates short hull version, preceded by Brooke-class, succeeded by Constellation-class. The Oliver Hazard Perry-class was designed by the Bath Iron Works Shipyard, Maine cooperating with Gibbs&Cox.

Building ordered on 27 February 1976, laid down by Todd Pacific Shipyards Co., Los Angeles Division, San Pedro, USA on 29 July 1978, launched on 29 July 1978, commissioned as USS Wadsworth (FFG9 in the US Navy, decommisssioned on 25 June 2002 and handed over to Poland. Displacement 3,650 tons and as dimensions 135.6 x 13.7 x 5.7 metres or 444.11 x 44.11 x `8.8 feet. Speed 29 knots. Crew numbers 215 men including 17 officers. Armament consists of 2x3 trainable ASW M46 torpedo tubes, 1-7,6cm Oto Melara dual purpose gun, 1-2cm Vulcan Phalanx CIWS system, 1 Mk.13 launcher with 40 RIM-62 SM-1 and Boeing Harpoon surface-to-surface missiles and 1 ASW Kaman SH-2G Super Seasprite class.
