Building ordered as the Ottoman Fatih designed by the British naval architect Edward Reed, laid down by Thames Inron Works, Leamouth, London, England in 1865, for sale in 1866 and brought by Prussia, launched on 25 April 1868, commissioned on 20 February 1869, harbour ship since 3 May 1904, barracks ship and cadets training ship since 1 October 1907, stricken on 4 January 1921 and broken up.
