Japanese passenger cargo ship (ex-Shri Maru 1928-1938) Syuri Maru 1938-1945

Call sign JRGB. Gross tonnage 1,857 tons, under deck 1,569 tons, net tonnage 1,076 tons, deadweight 2,700 tons and as dimensions 260.0 x 39.0 x 23.0 x 20 (loaded) feet. Laid down by Uraga Senkyo K.K, Uraga, Japan on 2 July 1928, launched as Shuri Maru on 27 September 1928, completed on 27 December 1928, requisitioned by the navy on 9 September 1937, registered as an auxiliary gunboat on 11 September 1937, renamed Syuri Maru in 1938, sunk by the American submarine USS Tautog (SS-199) south end of Tsushima Strait near Sasebo on 20 January 1945 and stricken on 10 March 1945. Single screw. Coal fuelled. Speed 10 (normal cruising) -13 (maximum) knots.
