Laid down by Northumberland Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Howdon, United Kingdom with yard number 221 in 1914, launched on 19 October 1914, delivered on 2 March 1915 and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Guardfish (SS-217) in the South Chian Sea on 19 July 1944. Used as troop transport. As Northwestern Miller English property, as Augsburg German property and 23 February-12 May 1940 owner Wm. Müller&Co., Batavier Lijn, Rotterdam, Netherlands but probably was the sale never executed as she was sold by the former German owner to the Japanese government on 5 December 1940. Gross tonnnage 6,512 tons, under deck 4,737 tons, net tonnage 4,095 tons, deadweight 9,300 ton and as dimensions 419.8 x 53.4 x 36.1 x 28 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, 682 nhp, coal bunker capacity 677 tons, range 7,0000 nautical miles/10 knots and speed 10 (normal cruising)-12 (maximum ) knots. Call sign as Augsburg was DOEM. The Dutch newspaper De Maasbode dated 9 May 1940 reported her sale to Wm. Müller&Co, She was at that moment lying at Dairen, China and to be Netherlands-flagged and renamed Vreebrugh bound for the Netherlands.
