An item reported that of the westbound Trans-Atlantic convoy mentioned in Summary No. 36 again 3 freighters were torpedoed, now in the night of 3-4 August southeast of Cape Race. A fourth ship seemed to be torpedoed by daylight no 3 August. Of the 41 ships were now 5 ships ships torpedoed by 4 enemy submarines. At least one submarine was attacked by an escort vessel, probably without success.
