The German embassy at Tokyo, Japan wrote on 28 October 1935 to the Chef der Marineleitung at Berlin referring to the Japanese monthly magazine Yushu that the gunboat Saimin, part of the riverine flotilla, built in 1934, tonnage 20 tons, speed 10.0 miles, flatt-bottomed and an armament of (anti aircraft) guns, machineguns, search lights and wireless devices.
