Building of British submarines and auxiliary ships continued according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1913 No. 5

An item reported that the building of British submarines continued. The submarine depot ship Maidstone(1) and her tenders Adamant (2) and Alecto (3) were fitted out just like the research vessel Endeavour.(4)

Notes

1. Building ordered in 1910, launched by Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Greenock, Scotland on 27 April 1912, commissioned on 15 October 1912, decommissioned on 15 December 1927 and sold on 31 August 1929.

2. Depot ship Adamant launched at the shipyard of Camell Laird on 12 July 1911 and sold on 21 September 1932 to Rees at Llanelly.

3. Depot ship Alecto launched at the shipyard of Laird on 29 August 1911 and sold on 7 July 1949 and broken up.

4. Survey vessel, launched in 1912, since 1940 depot ship and sold in 1946.
