An item reported for the British House of Commons on Thursday 10 April 1862 that Mr. [Alexander] Samuelson [shipbuilder of Hull] submitted to the Admiralty in 1860 plans for self-submerging gunboats. However the plans were found not available. Samuelson was informed that the Admiralty would give consideration to any modifications of his proposal. Howver there were no further porposals made to the Admiralty.
