Russian auxiliary patrol vessel Mongugai between 1904-1905

Vladivostok. Launched at Flensburg, Germany in 1891. Gross tonnage 1,012 tons. Speed under 12 knots. Armament unknown. Former Struve, Germany steamship Pronto. The war between the Russian and Japanese empires was between 8 February 1904-5 September1905. Battle Liao-Yang 23 August-5 September 1904, Battle Sha-Ho 5-18 October 1904 and surrender Port Arthur 2 January 1905.(1)

1. Cargo ship built by the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft for account of M. Struve, Blankensee, Germnay in 1892, renamed No. 4, Mongoughai, used by the Russian navv as hulk and transport, around 1940 broken up but not earlier as 1960 stricken from Lloyd's Register. Lloyds Register 1939-1940 reports gross tonnage 993 tons, under deck 883 tons, net tonnage 593 tons, dimensions 202.5 x 30.3 x 18.5 feet, call sign RACE and homeport Vladivostok.
