Displacement 2.420 tons/2.380 long tons (light)-3.500 tons/3.400 long tons full load) and as dimensions 129,2 x 13,5 x 5,5 metres or 424 x 44 x 18 feet. Two Piestick/Ishikawajima diesels supplying 8.000 bhp via 2 shaft allowing a speed of 18 knots and a range of 7.000 nautical miles. Crew numbered 415 men included 200 trainees.
