Smirna, 14 March. According to the newspaper le Spectateur Oriental was a ship flying British colours with a cargo of oil loaded at Candia captured by 3 vessels from Casso and brought up at Casso and declared prize while it left a blockaded harbour. Captain Rous of the frigate Hinde went to Casso where he found two of the privateesr referring to the blockade declaration of the supreme government of Peloponesus demanding the oil back but was refused three times satisfaction. The result was that one privateer was shot down and the second one just escaped this fate giving quarantee for the compensation of the oil.
