Duke of Clarence visited American ship Colombus according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 18 December 1824

London, 14 December. The duke of Clarence visited last Friday the large American ship Colombus which was anchored there and as being an experienced sailor he paid full attention to the ship and approved the solid and ordinary manner of building. They told him that the ship was returned to North America around the spring for a new cargo and that she would be fitted out with steam engine to drive the pumps.
