Dutch and Hannoverian merchant ships captured by a Spanish privateer according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 30 May 1823

London, 24 May. Lloyds received tidings that the Dutch merchant ships Cornelia Lucia Jacobus master Altena underway from Cette towards Stettin and the Maria Catharina master S. Jacobus Dijr underway from Cette towards Rotterdam and Amsterdam the Hannoverian merchant ship Verwachting master J.H. Diggerlaar were captured by a Spanish privateer and brought into Algeziras and declared by the court as good prizes because they left French harbours despite their cargoes were property of the inhabitants of neutral states.
