French navy blockading Barcelona according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 21 July 1823

Toulon, 8 July. Rear admiral des Rotours sent a Sardinian merchant brig loaded with rice and corn to this port which tried twice to enter the port of Barcelona despite although this was forbidden caused by the French blockade. She was first visited by the French warship Centaur and received a warning not to go to Barcelona. (1)

1. This must be the ship of the line le Centaure on stocks at Cherbourg 1811, launched 1818, renamed le Santi Petri 1823, since 1850 floating prison, 4 January 1862 accidentally burnt.
