According to an extract from a letter decided the senate of Hydra after the returning of the fleet to sent a flotilla of 36 vessels with landing troops on board to Cyprus to aid the citizens against the Turkish. Another squadron was ordered towards Candia to support the Greek forces there. Fifteen vessels were stationed to sail around the Archipelago to collect the taxes which were to be paid during the war but which were the half of what the Porte asked.
