The Colombian warships and privateers in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 28 July 1825

Barcelona, 13 July. The Colombians succeeded shot at the poor small lighter which brought the Spanish captain general Caro to his new destination and forced her to fled into a port near Alicante. The Colombians were at that moment ruling the Spanish seas. Letters coming from Havana dated 1 June and published in the newspaper l’Oracle reported the cruising in the waters there of Colombian warships namely the 28-gun la Ceres, the 18-gun la Confianza and the 18-gun el Vencedor and further more privateers like the la Zulma and the la Isabel and others.
