Labourer killed at yard of the Commercie Compagnie at Middelburg according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 29 January 1836

According to a tiding dated Middelburg 27 January was a certain Jacob Reinoud mortally wounded when his head was struck by a heavy peace of wood which he and some labourers transported when he continued his way under it. It was his first working day on the yard and the first order he got. He died within short time.
