Dutch merchant bark ship Stad Nijmegen built at Amsterdam according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 27 August 1851

At Nijmegen, Netherlands was recently a company founded for which all ready at Amsterdam a bark ship of 210 lasten destined of oceanic trading was build. Another Dutch newspaper the Sheboygan Nieuwsbode dated Friday 19 September 1851 supplied more details in a item dated Nijmegen 19 Augustus. According to this item was recently a company founded with as book-keeper A. Graadt van Roggen at Amsterdam, Netherlands. (1) At the yard het Wapen van Harlingen owned by F. Haverkamp in the Groote Wittenburgerstraat at Amsterdam was the bark ship of 210 lasten called Stad Nijmegen for this company build. Her master was to be P.W.E. Mellink.
