Launching of the Dutch merchant bark ship Pauline at Middelburg, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated Friday 14 May 1841

Last Saturday was at the yard of the Commercie Compagnie with success the bark ship Pauline of around 500 Java lasten launched.(1) She was built for account of Boddaert en Compagnie of Middelburg and with master J.J. Brouwer destined for the Dutch East Indies trade shipping.In another Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated Monday 28 June 1841 was a item published dated Middelburg 25 June according to which she departed that day towards Batavia (Djakarta).

1. In 1826 was the standard to calculate the cargo capacity of a ship the so-called roggelast (rogge=rye) of 2.075 kilo’s.
