The Austrian navy according to the United Service Magazine of November 1851

Thanks to the fact that nowadays more and more books are digitized we are able to read books that are some times for decades no longer available for the public for several reasons. That's quite a pity while these books contains useful information while the archives are destroyed, incomplete or nor accessible.

P. 455: “A letter from Vienna says – “The committee formed in this city for promoting the improvement of the Austrian navy pursues its labours without intermission. Before the end of this year a squadron of twenty-four vessels, among which are three first class frigates, well armed and equipped, will be ready to put to sea; and at Trieste the keels of three new frigates have been laid down. Austria appears determined to carry up her navy to the strength of other second-rate maritime nations.”
