Naval operations of the Dutch East Company at Coromandel according to the Generale Missive dated 30 November 1729

Departed to Coromandel 15 April the Heesburg, followed 26 May by the Bentveld, Noordbeek and Slot Aldegonde, while the same day the Noorderkwartier via Coromandel sailed to Bengal to purchase Pulicatse ropias. The sloop Het Noodlot departed via Malacca Strait 8 October towards Coromandel. 31 August and 21 October arrived at Batavia the Heesburg and Noordbeek coming back from Coromandel, with a cargo valued  868.556. The latter visited while sailing from Colombo towards Bengal without permission Nagapattinam. The Sint Algonde was after an inspection despite leaking below the waterline found suitable to sail via Atjeh towards Batavia. The Anna Maria brought from Colombo 400 lb pepper towards Nagapattinam. Near Mannar, Ceylon stranded the British ship George. A planned expedition with two armed yachts, each of a minimum length of 100 feet and 2 or 3 well fitted out, odd sailing chialoupen, to protect the fairways and the island Dieuw against the Moorish was not allowed to carried out. The government at Batavia wanted to make friendship with the groot-mogul.
