Naval strength of the Two Sicilies according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuw Amsterdamsch handels- en effectenblad dated 7 April 1858

A news item dated Naples 3 April reported that Naples regarded the conflict with Sardinia intended to increase her army. The navy consisted of 2 ships of the line, 5 sail frigates, 14 steam frigates, 6 corvettes, 2 brigs, 2 gunboats and 14 smaller steamships.
