Pressing of sailors to man Turkish fleet according to the Dutch newspaper Vriessche Courant dated 15 December 1808

According to an item dated Vienna 26 November ordered the Grand Vizier around mid October to press in the surroundings of Constantinople a large number of Caikis, Gadoliers or rowers and fishermen to service as sailors on board of the fleet.
