USA leasing warships to Japan according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 10 September 1954

An item reported that in mid October two American destroyers with a measurement of 1,600 tons were to be handed at the naval base Charleston over to Japan and after a short period of training departed towards Japan. Earlier that year were two frigates leased by the USA to Japan. As a result of the in May signed mutual defence treaty leased Japan already 18 escort frigates and 50 landing crafts.
