British whalers successful according to the Dutch newspaper Noordhollandsche courant dated 19 July 1779

The Adamant master Carlill arrived at Waithy coming from Greenland with 8 whales, 235 quardelen blubber and four tons whale beards. He departed on 18 July towards England with tidings dealing with the results of other whalers, the Favorite 9 whales, Vriendlyke Aventure [Friendly Adventure] 9, Leeuw [Lion] 8, Havik [Goshawk] 8, Rijzende Zon [Rising Sun] 6, Zegen [Blessing] 9, another Havik [Goshawk] 11, Edward 13, het Geluk [Happiness?] 3, Hertog van Jork 7 [Duke of York] all of London, Experiment 7 of Lynn, Carolina 8 of Hull, Jacob en Maria [Jacob and Mary] 3 of Whitby, the Vrijwillige (Volunteer] 1, Loyal Club 1 and Henrietta 1 all Whitby; all the other whalers were successful, some even full loaded. At Lynne Edwards arrived the Experiment with 7 whales and 1.100 seals and at Liverpool the Molly with 8 whales, both coming from Greenland.
