French merchant shipbuilding according to the Dutch newpspaper Provinciale Overijsselsche en Zwolsche Courant dated 5 August 1853

An item reported that the French shipbuilding was quite busy. Since beginning that year were just at the Loire already 52 merchant ships with a total tonnage of nearly 30,000 tons launched or to be completed for the end of the year.
