British transport Roslin Castle arrived at Cape Town according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated 11 November 1899

An item dated London 10 November reported that the transport Roslin Castle yesterday arrived at Cape Town with 1,000 men and victuals and immediately continued her voyage towards Durban.(1) The newspaper De Zeeuw dated 14 November reported her arrival at Durban with the 2nd battalion of the West Yorkshire regiment.

1. The Second Boer War found place between 11 October 1899 and 31 May 1902 and ended in a defeat of the Boers and regaining British sovereignty of the Orange Free State and South African Republic (Transvaal). In 1920 became the Union of South Africa part of the Commonwealth.
