An item dated Burgos 19 April reported that in the last days at Bilbao 39 freighters arrived with a total tonnage of 300,000 tons, The ships had been Spanish Republican flagged and interned in foreign harbours especially in France, England and the Netherlands when the cabinet of the Spanish Republic was dissolved.
