An item reported that the British cruiser HMS Sybille struck a cliff on Wednesday afternoon at 16.00 o’clock in the Lamberts Bay North of Saldanha causing the death of one man. The crew of 273 men was embarked on board of the transport City of Cambridge. When the incident found place was the weather very rough and the commanding officer and some of his officers on land.
