British gunboat Nemesis towards Taiwan sent to demand release of prisoners according to the Dutch newspaper Goessche Courant dated 22 December 1842

An item dated London 18 December reported that the East Indies Company sent the steamboat of war Nemesis (1) lieutenant W.H. Hall to Formosa (Taiwan) to demand the release of captain Gully and the crew of the Ann which ships and the transport Nebudda with around 200 men troops some time ago were wrecked near that island and afterwards all survivor were taken prisoner.
