The loss of the sternwheeler Sing Joe Seng on the Ogan river, Dutch East Indies, according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 15 March 1916

An item referred to a telegram sent by the resident of Palambang dated the 7th that in the night of 3-4 March on the Ogan river the sternwheeler Sing Joe Seng sunk causing the death of 18 men. Of the cargo and belongings of the passengers with a total value of around ƒ 25.000,00 was just a part salvaged.
