The edition of 19 June reported that the crews of the tugs in the inland waterway transport were striking showing solidarity with the port workers and at the same time demanded an increase of their wages of 25% and improvement of the terms of employment. Because the strike included the harbours of Antwerp , Gent and Luik was the whole inland waterway transport completely obstructed.
The edition dated 29 June published an item dated Paris 27 June according to which the sailors of Port Vendres, Rouaan and Marseille went to went work again a day earlier. In the small Mediterranean port Caronte broke a conflict out when the crew of the steamship Finisterre demanded that the captain discharged four men who refused to strike. When he refused this was the crew joined by sailors from another ship and were the four men forced to leave the ship. At Royan were the fishermen striking due to conflicts with the fishmongers and on board of many fishing vessels was the red flag hoisted. In Gent , Belgium were still difficulties with the tugs and small masters gainfully employed.
The edition of 4 August published an item dated Marseille , France 1 August reported that the crews of the tugs in these harbour were striking.
