US Navy building program of blimps according to the Dutch newspaper Limburger koerier dated 25 June 1940

An item dated Washington 21 June reported that the department of navy published the concept program of the naval staff dealing with the building and maintenance of non rigid airships on behalf of coast patrols and other purposes. Further more proposed the building of rigid airships to develop naval and commercial purposes. The Congress approved the building of 48 airships of the so-called Blimps type.
