An item dated Stockholm 11 March referred to radio Boston which announced that the American tanker Golf Trade of 6,700 gross tons last Tuesday was torpedoed along the Atlantic coast line.(1)

Mentioned a tanker called Gulftrade of the Gulf Oil Corporation of Pittsburgh of 6,776 gross registers tons, a deadweight of 11.250 tons and as dimensions 445’5” x 59’2” x 26’5” and a speed of 10.5 knots. Build in 1920 at the shipyard of the Sun Shipbuilding Company at Chester, Pennsylvania, The hull was black red-topped painted with a yellow black top ended funnel with between the black and yellow parts a red band with a white G.
